Convention Center Advertising
The Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center is pleased to introduce their new advertising partner, Spot Focus. Spot Focus owns and operates the largest network of digital and static media for convention centers in the United States. This has allowed them to develop partnerships with convention facilities, exhibitors, show management and select third party advertisers. As part of this new relationship and their ongoing commitment to provide the latest technology, they have installed new equipment at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.
Each of the new high-definition dynamic Digital Displays consists of three contiguous 50” plasma panels. Two of the digital displays are located in the Atrium Lobby and greet attendees the moment they enter the convention center. The third system is located in the Lobby of the entrances to Exhibit Halls B and C, which is also strategically aligned with a main entrance into the building. The 12’ display is located next to the Coffee Kiosk. This provides an advertising opportunity for local businesses via static ad placement or as part of a touch-screen system. It is here that patrons can find information about the destination, such as restaurants, local attractions, and shopping near the conference facility.
Spot Focus designs, builds, and integrates all the necessary display components, computer hardware and software required to deliver and operate a full service digital display advertising program. They utilize plasma, LCD and LED technology inside and outside of convention centers. Spot Focus also equips conference facilities with a complete on-site, digital advertising solution. They provide the equipment, promote the system to show managers, and have a full service graphic design team that develops and produces dynamic messages. They can display graphics, video, animation, photos and text.
What this partnership means for Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center clients is that Spot Focus and their graphic design team can create a custom visual program that will display scheduled information regarding your show, or highlight your sponsors and exhibitors throughout your event.

Top 10 Suggestions For Making Your Event A Success
10. Make sure the conference venue parking is close and explained on the invitation or confirmation notice. People are more forgiving when they know exactly what to expect. If parking isn't included in the price of the event, then explain the situation in advance.
9. Make sure the registration desk at the meeting facility is organized. Remember to organize badges alphabetically by last name, keep the area clean and have a helpful staff ready to accommodate walk-ins, misspelled names and other potential issues.
8. Make sure the registration desk has a wastebasket. Convention center attendees can quickly clutter a registration desk if none is present.
7. Make sure to use appropriate badges. Unless an event is extremely casual, don't use stick-on, write-on badges. Print them in advance and use large type. Spell all names correctly, and proof them at least twice.
6. Make sure your convention center has directional signage throughout its premises. Make sure it’s easy for attendees to find where they’re going. If not, then they might just give up and go home.
5. Make sure there is an agenda available. People want to know what's happening and when. Display the agenda by printing it and placing it on each seat or table at the conference venue.
4. Make sure the physical needs of your attendees are not ignored. Restrooms should be close by and there should be coffee if it's a morning corporate event. Make sure there is also enough water for everyone.
3. Make sure a reminder was sent. Email, Twitter and/or Facebook reminders should be sent a week before the event.
2. Make sure the speaker or entertainment is not late to the conference venue. Arrival times and A/V support should be planned well in advance.
1. Make sure the A/V system has been tested. Rehearsal is key. If a cable, laptop, projector or other technical aspect ruins a presentation, it will be remembered for months to come. Make sure there is a technical professional present at the event to handle any A/V issues.
Food & Beverage Convention Center Services
Whether it’s a sit-down banquet for a gala affair, elegant hors d'oeuvres, hot dogs and sodas or a cappuccino and croissant sold from a portable cart to convention attendees, SAVOR satisfies! SAVOR, our creative team of food and beverage professionals at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, follows sustainable practices in the kitchen, from energy-efficient food preparation, non-toxic cleaning, recycling, and water conservation to purchasing locally produced food and beverages whenever possible. SAVOR also integrates farm-to-table initiatives into all of our operations. We purchase our fruits and vegetables through Farm Fresh Produce, a company that sources local farms. This not only assures our conference facility customers of the freshest and most naturally flavorful ingredients, it allows us to help the local economy by supporting regional growers.
Initiatives aimed at minimizing our carbon footprint include banning polystyrene foam products from the facility, purchasing locally produced and sustainably raised products, sourcing sustainable seafood, using non-petroleum-based products, and recycling.
Together, the Broward County Convention Center and SAVOR offer a broad menu of services tailored specifically for the needs of our clients. We have extensive experience catering every type of occasion, from cocktail receptions and buffets to trade show exhibitor entertaining and large sit-down dinners.

Florida Conference Facilities
The award-winning Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center is America’s premiere conference facility. The 600,000 square foot center is architecturally
designed to take advantage of our waterfront setting, highlighted by a wall of
glass that runs along the entire eastern side of the building. The centerpiece is a three-level glass
atrium with a skylight that provides abundant natural light and looks out on a
1.3 acre fountain plaza, all while taking in the scenic Intracoastal
Waterway. Our meeting facilities are the perfect place to host
any type of event.
The size and layout of the Florida conference center make it possible to host multiple clients at the
same time or to dedicate our entire square footage to one large event. Our flexible space consists of four
exhibit halls, 2 ballrooms and 31 meeting rooms that can be configured in a
variety of ways to meet the needs of any group. A 2,500-space parking garage is connected to the center via
two enclosed, air-conditioned skywalks, located at the north and south ends of
the building.
Location is still another reason why you should choose the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center as the site
for your corporate events. The building is a 5-minute drive from
the airport, close to Port Everglades and is within walking distance to some of
Fort Lauderdale’s most beautiful hotels.
Some of the activities you can enjoy during your free time while
attending an event at the convention center include golf and water sports. Or, you can “cruise” the area via the
unique Water Taxi as it takes you around the many canals, creeks and rivers
that make up the Intracoastal Waterway, with stops along the way. Best of all, the city’s most famous
natural attraction, its Blue Wave beach, is less than 1 mile away from the
center. Add all of this to Fort
Lauderdale’s gorgeous year-round weather and you have the ideal conference facilities.
